Talk of Christmas started back in August for Extravision, when we created our new corporate Christmas ecard
range, and I’m happy to say that since then we’ve had lots of interest.
It’s now 1st December and we can officially start the countdown. Decorations will be going up across homes and offices throughout the land. Some people will have ‘Christmas all wrapped up’. You know the type (women?), shopping done, cards written etc. I hate those people! And there will be the other group of people (men?) for who Christmas hasn’t even crossed their minds, and probably won’t until the 24th December!
But as I know all too well, there are only 3 weekends and 3 working weeks left until Christmas Day itself, and it will come around very quickly. For some marketers, sending corporate Christmas ecards won’t even have passed their minds; they’ll have too much other ‘important stuff’ to do.
But I think corporate ecards are just as important as any other marketing activity. Ok they might not be as sexy as social media or an advertising campaign, but they are still about one key thing; engagement. Gone are the times when companies can afford to send out nice gifts to say thank you (I once received this box of chocolates
!). So to take a little time to send a personalised ecard greeting, wishing a Merry Christmas or a Happy New Year, shows your clients and customers you’re thinking of them. You’re continuing to engage with them and reminding them you exist. Plus sending an ecard is far cheaper and much more cost effective.
When it comes to creating your ecards, the Extravision team loves it when a client calls up and knowing exactly which ecard design they want. Or if they prefer a bespoke ecard
, they have a storyboard drafted of exactly how it will work. It helps us to make the process as smooth as possible for everyone involved. And the result is something we can all be proud of.
