Supporting Carbon Footprint

We kick-started our fundraising activities in January, by supporting the Carbon Footprint's great tree planting initiative. Following up on the pledge we made back in November 2010, to plant a tree for each e-card that we sold over the Christmas period, we were delighted to get our certificate from Carbon Footprint, to confirm that a total of 50 British broad-leaved trees were planted in the North West region on our behalf. Carbon Footprint states that each tree planted "offsets" our environmental impact by "breathing" in about 1 tonne of CO2 emissions over its lifetime. It's estimated that the average person needs to save about 7 tonnes of CO2 per year and so planting just 7 trees each year is one strategy for achieving this. The trees also provide sustainable habitat for wildlife and will enhance the natural landscape with native broad-leaved trees.

DMA North Charity Challenge

On 29th April 2010, four brave members of the Extravision team took part in the Krypton Factor Assault Course Challenge to raise over £2,500 for the DMA’s nominated charity - Help for Heroes. The event brought together people involved in the direct marketing industry in the north and helped raise money for Help for Heroes in a fitting tribute to their efforts in action.

You can take a look here at our Extravision heroes in action. The event took place at the Official Krypton Factor assault course in North Yorkshire (slightly different to the one used in the TV show, but equally as demanding!!).

Help for Heroes is a charity that provides direct, practical support to those who have been wounded in Britain's current conflicts. The charity was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry after a profoundly moving visit to Selly Oak Hospital in the summer of 2007. Bryn and Emma met some extraordinarily brave young men and women who had been badly wounded and they just wanted to do something to help. The message is simple, H4H does not seek to criticise or be political, they simply want to help.

Helping Each with a free email marketing service

We are also delighted to support East Anglia's Children's Hospice Each by providing all our email marketing services free of charge. This great charity ( registered no 1069284)  is reliant on raising around £4.8 million in public donations to deliver their services this year, which amounts to more than £13,000 a day, every day of the year.

Each supports families and cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.  They provide care and support wherever the family wishes – in families’ own homes, in the community or at one of their hospices in Ipswich, Milton and Quidenham.
This care and support includes; short break care; specialist play activities; music therapy; hydrotherapy; parent groups and sibling groups; care at end of life and bereavement support for all family members.
